Vitamin D Light Therapy

Nearly 85% of Americans are Vitamin D deficient and if you live north of the state of Georgia you are almost certainly deficient!  Vitamin D is a key building block in your immune system function which can help your body fight off illness and disease.  According to studies, optimal Vitamin D levels can reduce your risk of several types of cancer as well as other conditions such as Type 2 diabetes.  Exposure to the sun is the best way to achieve optimal Vitamin D levels however most of us do not get enough due to the short summer season and UVA/UVB blocking sunscreen.  Low Vitamin D levels are also linked to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) which can lead to depression especially during the long winter months.
